In 2018, I was asked to support the California Health Care Foundation with the launch and outreach around a patient education campaign designed to lower the rate of low-risk, first-birth C-sections in California. The campaign was part of a collaboration between the California Health Care Foundation, the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative, and Consumer Reports to educate women about the overuse of c-sections and encourage meaningful conversations between patients and their care team. My role was to assist with the development and finalization of the campaign strategy and timeline, create communications materials to support the campaign launch, and follow up with various stakeholders after the launch so as to encourage awareness of the campaign and the sharing of information with patients.
