VIEW PROJECT

The Greater Good Science Center at the University of California, Berkeley studies the psychology, sociology, and neuroscience of well-being and teaches skills that foster a thriving, resilient, and compassionate society.

I worked with the team at GGSC in 2021 to develop and implement a Gratitude Practice for Nurses initiative, aimed at cultivating the practice of gratitude within the nursing profession to support nurse well-being. The initiative, a collaborative effort with the American Nurses Foundation, draws on decades of research showing that practicing gratitude is good for our bodies, our minds, and our relationships — and is a valuable tool to combat the stresses faced by nurses and other health professionals. It offers resources to nurture that practice in the lives of nurses and in the settings in which they work.
