Brand Strategy


The Multicultural Center of Marin (formerly the Canal Welcome Center) had been serving the Canal district’s community residents, immigrants, and low-income families in Marin County, California for nearly 20 years. As the organization’s work and partnerships expanded to serve more diverse communities throughout the entire county, they outgrew both their name and their brand identity. Their leadership team brought me on to work with them to develop their new brand identity, including and a new logo and visual identity system.

Their brand guidebook, which you can explore here, represents the fruits of our work together. It details the elements that make up their brand framework and brand visual identity. They chose a rounded logo form with bright colors that join together in a unified whole to evoke collaboration and diversity. The brand expression celebrates cultures, communities, and empowerment.
