Communications Strategy

The San Mateo Resource Conservation District is one of more than 100 resource conservation districts that exist across the United States. RCDs serve as local hubs for conservation, connecting people with the technical, financial and educational assistance they need to conserve and manage their local natural resources.

Through my affiliation with LightBox Collaborative, I worked with SMRCD to develop a communications plan following their most recent strategic planning refresh. The communications plan suggested a number of potential strategies for enhancing the organization's overall communications, including the need to build a more cohesive brand presence, including a clearly articulated mission and vision statement, tagline, values, services offered, and visual identity that could be used by the team to bring more brand consistency. 

A brand guidebook was developed to support that strategy, along with a new mission statement and other brand messaging components.
